Project Description
Cyclone Dairy is a farm that allegedly produces milk from cloned cows. In reality, it is an “April Fools” joke by Ben and Jerry’s, intended to highlight ethical and scientific questions about cloning. With the help of an intensive viral marketing campaign and a fake “tasting” of cloned milk in New York, the Cyclone Dairy website lit up the blogosphere with speculation, and attracted over 20,000 visitors in only two weeks. The site was designed to look at first like a big corporate site; after the truth was revealed on the 1st of April 2009, video and activist links were added. Vermont Design Works is proud to have been part of this unique marketing campaign.
