Betsy Allen-Pennebaker | Content Director

Before joining the VDW team, Betsy managed a re-election campaign for former Burlington Mayor Peter Clavelle, taught Humanities at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, and earned a Master’s degree at UVM. She also spent several years living in Vienna, Austria, and Oxford, England, where she earned a second Master’s and her doctorate. One of her master’s theses, an annotated book-length translation of the memoirs of an Austrian émigré writer, was published in 1999 under the title The Traveling Years.

When she is not at work, Betsy studies acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She recently became certified in Shiatsu massage.
