In the summer of 2012 we wrote about our partnership with Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund to create the Vermont Food System Atlas, which we’re proud to announce launched earlier last year! As you may remember, VSJF envisions the VT Food Atlas as essentially being the information hub for their Farm to Plate Initiative.
VDW is OPEN today, Friday, February 14, 2014. We have a limited crew in the office with others working remotely. Please be patient with us as we return messages. Note, we will also be open on Monday, President’s Day, February 17th.
In the meantime, enjoy the white stuff and take a moment to clear your furnace vents and neighborhood fire hydrants.
We’re gearing up for another Code of BTV Hackathon. This one is especially close to our hearts as we’ll work with our friends involved with the Vermont Farm to Plate Network at NOFA Vermont’s Winter Conference this weekend.
Admittedly it seems a bit early to be talking about New Year’s Eve, but given the traffic we’ve seen pouring in to last year’s post over the last several months, it seems that folks are already clamoring for information about New Year’s 2014 Celebrations. We’ll likely need to add to this post as additional events are announced, but we hope this can serve as your Vermont Near Year’s 2014 event calendar.
Get involved in the 2nd annual #GivingTuesday on December 3, 2013 by participating in a nationwide effort to raise awareness and funds for charities. Take an unselfie to showcase the causes you care about and join the conversation about giving back.
Support small businesses this holiday season by shopping small wherever you are. We included tips on finding hidden treasures on back roads instead of the aisles of box stores as well as listings for Vermont’s 50%50 challenge.
We wanted to bring you roundup of all the Vermont Black Friday 2013 sales happening across the state, but as of right now, very few local retailers are even advertising specific events. But don’t fret – we’ll continually update this post as more information comes in, up until the big day is upon us. And feel free to tip us off to any sales you may know about!
We may be closed next Thursday and Friday for the holiday but we still wanted to share a rundown of Thanksgiving events happening around Vermont next week. For starters, we’re so thankful for all of the great charities that will be helping the less fortunate this year and we’re happy to provide a sample of the ways you can help. We’ve also compiled a list of restaurant dinner specials and Thanksgiving in VT getaways for out of staters planning to visit us.
Vermont Stage Company’s 2013-14 season is already in full swing! Our friends and long-time clients returned to Vermont Design Works for once again for show poster design. Check out this year’s line-up, the posters we created and order your tickets today! And if you have any upcoming projects that require print design, let us know – we’d love to help!
With a portfolio boasting such names as NECI, FlynnTix and Lake Champlain Ferries, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we often see our clients in the news, and that was never more true than last week. Today we take a look at just a handful of stories that caught our eye recently.
