While many of us have still been waking from our long winter slumbers, rubbing our eyes in disbelief as the mercury finally creeps above the 32°F mark, local foodies have been salivating with anticipation of the 5th annual Vermont Restaurant Week for months, and the wait is almost over. Break out your Thanksgiving Pants if you have ‘em because the VT Restaurant Week 2014 will be held this year from April 25 through May 4.
With spring comes trade show season in Vermont. We are gearing up for the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce’s Small Biz Summit on Wednesday, March 26th. Running from 8:30 am to 5 pm at the Sheraton in South Burlington, the day will be filled with workshops designed for small business owners. We will be among 40+ exhibitors who specialize in meeting the needs of small and medium sized businesses.
March 17th is nearly upon us which means it’s that magical day of the year that we all become Irish. Filled with traditions, celebrations, parades, and tipping back a pint, St Patrick’s Day brings green to a deary late winter day to remind us that spring – and luck – are with us.
Once again, we revisit one of our most popular posts about Saint Patrick’s Day events in Vermont.
In the summer of 2012 we wrote about our partnership with Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund to create the Vermont Food System Atlas, which we’re proud to announce launched earlier last year! As you may remember, VSJF envisions the VT Food Atlas as essentially being the information hub for their Farm to Plate Initiative.
Vermont Design Works is back after a long weekend of celebrations and leftovers for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you enjoyed the holiday with friends and family as much as we did. If you called or emailed us over the break, rest assured that we will get back to you as soon as possible.

For most of us, the story of a tragic fire at Brown Ledge Camp in Colchester ended with the revelation that 2 teens playing with matches and fireworks were responsible. But you probably hadn’t heard that despite the damage caused by the fire, Brown Ledge has been rebuilding in preparation for the originally scheduled opening of camp on June 20. As a long-time friend and client of ours, we’ve been closely monitoring their rebuilding efforts and are excited to post this update on the remarkable progress they’ve made just in recent weeks.
Is it that time again already? Yup! Vermont Restaurant Week is back, with feasts and festivities all over the state beginning today – Friday, April 26. 10% of all proceeds go to the Vermont Foodbank, so indulge in some guilt free gorging now through next Sunday and know that you’re not only supporting local restaurants, but helping a great cause – feeding the less fortunate in our area.

Check out our list of VT St. Patrick’s Day events and then come suck some diesel with the rest of us bowsies! What’s that? Last January we mentioned that we’d signed as a new client The Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE), along with their sister organization the Vermont Food Venture Center, for a fresh redesign and website development project. Today we’re excited to announce that the new site has launched!
