The Local Motive - A new PBS series that explores Vermont's local food system

[Community]
Vermont Design Works is a proud partner to many organizations though out the state of Vermont who support and improve Vermont's local food system. We are excited to report that Vermont PBS has featured the work of some of these organizations in their new, six part series that explores Vermont's food system and gives insight into where our food comes from, how it is processed & distributed, and what this means for consumers. Watch the series now and spread the word!: http://vermontpbs.org/localmotive If you're not already familiar with VT Farm to Plate (a sponsor and featured organization in the PBS series), explore their website to gain an understanding of how the food system in Vermont is built. We were thrilled to partner with VT Farm to Plate to develop their website which includes an interactive food atlas that visually displays state food data and helps community members locate distributors to strengthen the local system. Interested in sustainable food? Be sure to have a look at the Vermont Gleaning Collective, as well. We have enjoyed working together with the Vermont Gleaning Collective to develop a new website to promote gleaning events in the region and register volunteer gleaners. Their work gleans thousands of edible crops that would otherwise go to waste and distributes them to vulnerable community members.
